美国国务卿认证也叫美国国务院认证或美国联邦政府认证,是美国领事认证的其中一环。 在进行中国领事馆公证认证的情况下，如果属于华盛顿特区大使馆所辖领区的，须送美国国务院办理认证后，再送华盛顿特区大使馆申请领事认证。 美国国务院认证比较容易出错的就是“Authentication Certificate Requirements”和“Apostille Requirements – Hague Convention（海牙认证）”。 在中国使用需要办理“Authentication Certificate Requirements”，而不是“Apostille Requirements – Hague Convention（海牙认证）”。
